Equestrian Medical Services

Equestrian medical cover is one of our specialist areas of business. Because of our speciality we have set up this web page to contain information about the services and level of cover that we can provide you with, but also to provide some key decision making information to consider when assessing a providers suitability.

We have been providing medical cover at equine events for several years now. Our director has been involved with service delivery at high profile equine events for over 10 years, and so we have extensive experience in dealing with medical emergencies at all manner of equestrian events.

What sets us apart from other providers?

We have a passion for equestrian eventing safety. This means we delivery a highly bespoke and incredibly safe service designed around each individual event. Our management team has plenty of experience in medical risk planning for equestrian events meaning our strategy at our events is ratified and reasoned.

When we deliver our services at these type of events, our sole focus is on safety and keeping your riders well looked after. We recognise the high risk of this sport, wether it is a dressage only event, or a full trials including dressage, showjumping and XC, we have you covered!

Our medical teams and vehicles are fully kitted and stocked in line with the NHS ambulance service, however on our equestrian and remote events we do carry additional equipment. Some of the equipment we carry other providers are unlikely too. For example we have specialist stretchers making it easy to carry someone out from difficult to access areas.

What experience do we have?

From covering pony club events, to hunter trials, to British Eventing we have converted a wide range of equestrian events. We even have experience up too NAF 5* level! Due to our experience at each level, we are highly aware of the medical rules and requirements of each and as such our cover for equine events always meets these rules and standards to ensure that as a provider, we have you covered!

We have the ability to meet your requirements and have a varied fleet meaning we can supply 4X4 vehicles as well as road ambulances. This means we can cover your event in its entirety regardless of the type of eventing that you are hosting!

What about health and safety?

Some providers will offer a joint service, which includes your medical cover and a health and safety representative to cover your event. Whilst this sounds helpful to cover under one invoice, have you considered the effect if there is conflicting interests?

Your medical cover is a large cost for each event, but it is the biggest safety remedy and safeguards organisers from any issues arising!

Your health and safety representative should be advocating to ensure your event is compliant and protecting your event and business. Have you considered that by combining both services you could be compromising the integrity of risk assessments by bias?

Our answer to this is that we can offer an independent health and safety service through an industry partner! We can make arrangements which takes a planning element away from you, but ensures that all bias is removed. We would expect our partner to identify issues within our services as our key aim is making these events as safe as possible!

What considerations should I make when arranging my cover?

Is your provider experienced in this sector? Has their company covered similar events?

Does your provider recognise the high risk level when considering the injuries that could be sustained?

Is your provider going to meet the regulations within your type of event?

What insurances does your provider have? Do these meet your expectations?

Remember that providers should have medical malpractice and public liability insurance.

What vehicles do they use?
